Leafy Corner Character Customization
Build your shopkeeper look without stalling the tutorial.
Your shopkeeper, your vibe
Leafy Corner lets you customize your character so the cozy plant shop fantasy feels personal—hair, outfits, and presentation that match the greenhouse mood of Fireline Games’ sim. Customization supports the fantasy; it does not replace watering, Plant Tokens, or reputation. Treat looks as a reward between healthy droplet passes described in How to Water Plants.
The full game launched July 30, 2026 at $9.99 with Overwhelmingly Positive Steam reviews (~98%, 700+ purchaser reviews in early August). Avatar polish is part of that cozy presentation—just do not let fashion sessions leave whites on the shelf.
Tutorial timing (important after Demo 1.0.2)
Demo patch 1.0.2 fixed a bug where opening Character Creation during the Tutorial could leave players stuck. Even with the fix, best practice remains: finish the tutorial prompts first, then open deeper customization. New buyers during Launch Week should follow the same order on every platform, including Steam Deck.
Retail Patch 1.0.3 (August 2, 2026) fixed a sofa clipping glitch where furniture overlapped background plants—relevant if you rearrange decor for avatar screenshots. Full notes on Pause and Shop Layout.
If you still freeze on an older demo build, update Steam to 1.0.2—full notes on Demo Patch 1.0.2.
How customization fits the loop
- Complete onboarding tasks from Getting Started.
- Stabilize a watering route so whites never pile up behind fashion experiments.
- Open Character Creation when the shop is calm—or close the door sign per Close Shop and Saves.
- Return to customer help and sales—How to Help Customers.
Cosmetics do not raise prices or unlock species. Plant unlocks still follow How to Unlock Plants. Orders and reputation progress independently of your outfit.
Shop presentation vs avatar presentation
Customers react more to healthy plants and clear layouts than to your hat. Spend early tokens on stock and Shop Expansion before chasing every outfit. Floor patterns added in Demo 1.0.2 are another visual layer—see Shop and Pots and Furniture.
Brick wall and night sky wallpapers arrived in Demo 1.0.1—archive on Demo Patch 1.0.1. Coordinate wall colors with pot glazes so droplet icons stay readable during watering.
Accessibility and language UI
Patch 1.0.2 moved language selection to a drop-down and expanded demo languages. Demo 1.0.1 added the motion blur toggle—disable it in Game Settings if camera pans during long customization sessions feel harsh.
If you switch UI language mid-session, re-find Character Creation in the updated menus. Wiki localization (en/fr/de/es) is separate from in-game Steam languages.
Deck and console tips
On handheld screens, preview outfits under shop lighting you actually use. Avoid long creation sessions while plants show whites—enable Reduced Watering if you want buffer time for fashion. Patch 1.0.3 strengthened that option further.
Controller bindings for menus live on Controls. Nested furniture bugs were also fixed in 1.0.2—do not remove shelves that still hold objects while you rearrange for screenshots.
Common mistakes
- Opening Character Creation mid-tutorial on outdated builds.
- Spending the whole first hour on outfits instead of learning droplets.
- Expecting cosmetics to replace reputation progress.
- Ignoring floor and furniture color tweaks that also sell the cozy vibe.
- Customizing during active customer rush instead of closing the shop first.
First-week customization pacing
Day one: tutorial plus basic watering—minimal avatar changes.
Day two–three: unlock compendium species from Starter Plants before buying vanity pieces.
Day four+: treat Character Creation as a reward after a clean watering pass and task claims.
Follow First Week Guide for broader progression timing.
